i just realized how many spelling mistakes and grammar mistakes i made in the last post..but thats ok. right?

5th week summary and a beautiful trip to Brighton, England

Hi Mona, and Papper and Mom...haha

Well, after last weekend full of dates w/ good ol Harry Potter I thought I might venture out and make some real friends. Haha... Lets see...what did I do this week? I went out to eat almost every day with these 3 kids in my class who are all very nice. Two of them are bf/gf's and live in New York and one is this guy from Ohio. They are all really nice. After lunch on Monday I went to explore the globe theatre for my presentation in class. It was an amazing replica of the original globe (almost as precise as the one papper and I made freshman year of high school for my english class...or shall i say papper made it?) haha But yes, the buidling was made from the exact same materials used to build the original globe. The only problem with the repica is its about 200 yards from the original site so that's kinda a bummer. On tuesday...oh what did I do on tuesday...well whatever i did probably consisted of wandering around london and maybe reading in the park. Hmm On wednesday I hung out with a friend in my sorority from home named Aly. We went to Oxford Circus, went on a long walk and got sundaes from McD's. On thursday I had my presentation on the Globe and then went shopping that afternoon. After finding some good deals *wink* I met up with my couple friend from class and we went to the Absolut Ice Bar. The place was amazing! It was ALL ice. The bar, the floor, walls, sculputures, and even our glasses. They gave us these huge silver parkas and gloves and a free drink. We were only in there for a restricted 45 mins but it was worth it and really fun. After that we just went and sat at a bar before heading back. Today I woke up and caught a train to Brighton England which is a costal town about an hour south. There I met up with my friend Kelly that I met on the plane over here and through our Butler orientation. She showed me around the town, the beach, pier, and alll over. We were worn out by the end of it! It was beautiful though. I felt like i took a step back in time to when kids rode the merry-go-round off the pier, ate ice cream and fish and chips, and went frollicin' around. I'll put the link on the bottom in a min. After a day of beaching I am now back at home in my lovely room 517 of the Wigram House. Tomorrow I'm going with my couple friends to Bath, Stonehenge, and Windsor castle. I'm pretty excited! Especially about Bath..I hear its a beautiful city! Then Sunday my friend Linda from the first session is coming back to stay with me a few days! I'm so excited to see her! She's great. Well I'll be home a week from today and 3 1/2 hours. SO CRAZY! I can't believe its been 5 weeks. I'm so glad and thankful to have such an opportunity as this. It's been amazing and I've definitly learned so much from this experience and have had many dates just with Jesus to contimplate life. He's been so faithful through it all and has held my hand in so many different places! It's been beautiful to say the least. I can't wait to see my family. Even if it is for just a day and a 1/2. I love them so much, no matter how little I say it or show it! Ok look at my pictures now~

Post from the Mommy

Ok, this is not Erica. I've been here with her for a week. She'd go to class and I would explore, she'd come back from class and we'd both explore. It's been great. We went to see Harry Potter one evening at the Odeon at Leicester Square. My two favorite evenings were going to see Wicked and Les Misarables. I love the theatre. Erica and I went to New York City a few years ago with Diane and Mona and did the theatre scene. This was as good or better but we missed Diane and Mona.

London is filled with Harry Potter mania. Everywhere you go there are people dressed like they go to Hogwarts. We know they are muggles.

The other big story here is that Beckham is playing for the Galaxy in LA. A story everynight about him and how he's taking the US by storm?! They love him and his spice girl wife.

Well, I hate to leave tomorrow. I'd best go get one more glass of champagne! We're going to go get "the book" at midnight. I usually say to Erica, "how'd I let you talk me into this" only when I'm getting on a roller coaster with her, but I'm really going to go to get in the "queue" and wait for a book I can get at Walmart tomorrow when I get back to the states. "Erica, how'd I let you talk me into this?"

PS. Hi to Patrick, Evan, Mona, Joe, Benjamin, Daniel, Grandma, Diane and Lindsay. Wish you we're all here.

Paris, Goodbyes, Mommyness

Hey yallz. I went to Paris last friday! It was beautiful and just a quick snapshot of the place (I was only there for like 6 hours..) I would love to go back! Here are the pics from it (http://missouri.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2177498&l=47798&id=15919537) I started the second session of classes today. I'm done w/ photography and am now taking a history class of London. It should be pretty sweet considering everyday we go to a museum to learn about it. Tomorrow we're going to the British Museum to learn about the Roman period. Only 2 of my friends from the first session are staying and I really didn't hang out with them much and one is a dude so I'm going to have to make a whole slew of new pals! I met two really nice girls today that seemed really cool. Supposedly there are 2 brothers who go to Westminster College in Columbia right by Mizzou! I havn't met them yet but I hear that they are pretty fun guys too. Today after an opening lunch I went w/ my friends Diego and Marco and we went shopping at H&M haha...then I just went and read Harry Potter 6 in the Park! Marco and Diego went with me to reserve my Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows copy at a Border's at Oxford Circus. I would have rather reserved it at a smaller place so I could avoid the crazyness and just get the book right at midnight but there arn't too many small places that are staying open.

My mommy flew in on Saturday and I've been hangin with her and showing her the greatness of this wonderous city. Today she went to Paris for the day and should be back tonight around 9:30. I think I'll probably wear her out with all the activities planned! We are going to see Wicked, HP again, museums, tours, walks, all the good stuff. Her hotel is SOOO nice compared to the Wigram House. I'll probably be shacking up there as much as possible to take advantage of an amazing bed and nice shower with heated towels! So i'm glad she's here! (not just for the nice flat though ;) )

I sure do miss Linda, Jill and Alissa. They were so much fun and I'm so glad i got to meet them all! We'll definitly already planning reunions..haha. Linda is actually coming back the last week and staying with me. She's in Dublin then going all over the continent. She also has to come back b/c she left her big suitcase w/ me.

It's actually really nice to have some down time for once. I'm meeting with my friend Kevin in a little bit and we're going to get something to eat. I know him from home and he's friends w/ my pal Tara. Sorry I'm so rambly...My thoughts are just all over the place!!!!

Well....I guess i'll be updating soon! Check out the Paris pics!

Edinburgh Scotland

Well folks, now that the crazed excitment of me fulfilling my dreams has come true, on to other bigger and better things. (Although meeting JK Rowling and the cast of HP is pretty huge). This weekend we took our first weekend trip to Edinburgh Scotland which is the capital of Scotland. Ok, one more Harry Potter plug, JK Rowling is from Edinburgh and we actually ate at the cafe called "The Elephant House" where she wrote the first book while on welfare. It was the cutest little cafe and it overlooked the Edinburgh castle which ironically looked like Hogwarts perched upon a huge cliff. And right down the road was an upholstry place called "The Golden Stitch"...I think i might have picked up on all of her ingenius ideas while living there. She still lives in Scotland in like a 500 million dollar house. Wow.

Ok sorry, no more HP for a little while. Ok. Scotland. So the first day we arrived we parked our junk in our Hostel (Our tour guide always added "Five Star" to the front of the word Hostel) but it really was nice. Ok so we dropped off our stuff and went to explore. First we met with one of Alissa's friends who currently has a summer internship at the Scottish Parliament. This place was AMAZING. It was just recently built and the budget for buiding it was 1 billion doll hairs. Yeah...it was pretty crafty. I'll load pics later. So after a little tour of parliament we went on a walk down the Royal Mile of the old town and looked at all the amazing buildings and old architecture. The city is nessled right inbetween these BEAUTIFUL scottish mountains that were just beautiful. We also made sure on this little jouney to eat all of the Scottish yumminess we could. And we did. So after the first day of exploring, we decided the next day we would take a tour through the Highlands of Scotland and a boat cruise on Loch Ness. And we spotted Nessy! (I'll post a pic of that too) The mountains were beautiful. I've never seen something so massive yet still so green all the way to the top. Loch Ness was pretty interesting too. The only problem with the tour was that when we were in the van we were soooooo exhausted we'd pass out. Once we were out of the van we were wide awake. We came to the conclusion that sitting in that bus was the only time in the past 2 weeks where we were in a stagnant position that didn't requre eating or sleeping so naturally we had to do one of the other and the best was sleep. It was irresistible. After a full day of seeing the Scotish countryside our bus broke down on the side of the road but luckily our Scottish tour guide's GF picked us up in HER scottish tour van. (They're destined for each other huh....) haha Today we went back to London via train and arrived at Kings Cross (did i mention they have a REAL platform 9 and 3/4?) Yeah...ok sorry that was my last HP plug. And then this afternoon i took a few more Alley shots for my final project for my class and then we went on a really long walk and ate tapas for dinner. Oh and we discovered that if you walked about 5 mins in the opposite direction from our house we were so used to take, you ran right into Big Ben! ? What?!?!? Where did he come from? We're so used to taking the tube i guess....Well loves I have a bright and early morning tomorrow... But to those that actually read these all the way through...you are my HEROs!!! Oh, please be praying for my Sophia who broke her foot..or shall I say some dumb drunk driver broke her foot... I'm just so glad she's safe and alive!!! Total blessing.....But be praying..she has a long road for recovery. And please be praying for me as I spend time with the girls I'm with here so I may be a light for them.

I miss you all so much and I'm so glad that you're all in my life.

Love Love
