Well folks, now that the crazed excitment of me fulfilling my dreams has come true, on to other bigger and better things. (Although meeting JK Rowling and the cast of HP is pretty huge). This weekend we took our first weekend trip to Edinburgh Scotland which is the capital of Scotland. Ok, one more Harry Potter plug, JK Rowling is from Edinburgh and we actually ate at the cafe called "The Elephant House" where she wrote the first book while on welfare. It was the cutest little cafe and it overlooked the Edinburgh castle which ironically looked like Hogwarts perched upon a huge cliff. And right down the road was an upholstry place called "The Golden Stitch"...I think i might have picked up on all of her ingenius ideas while living there. She still lives in Scotland in like a 500 million dollar house. Wow.
Ok sorry, no more HP for a little while. Ok. Scotland. So the first day we arrived we parked our junk in our Hostel (Our tour guide always added "Five Star" to the front of the word Hostel) but it really was nice. Ok so we dropped off our stuff and went to explore. First we met with one of Alissa's friends who currently has a summer internship at the Scottish Parliament. This place was AMAZING. It was just recently built and the budget for buiding it was 1 billion doll hairs. Yeah...it was pretty crafty. I'll load pics later. So after a little tour of parliament we went on a walk down the Royal Mile of the old town and looked at all the amazing buildings and old architecture. The city is nessled right inbetween these BEAUTIFUL scottish mountains that were just beautiful. We also made sure on this little jouney to eat all of the Scottish yumminess we could. And we did. So after the first day of exploring, we decided the next day we would take a tour through the Highlands of Scotland and a boat cruise on Loch Ness. And we spotted Nessy! (I'll post a pic of that too) The mountains were beautiful. I've never seen something so massive yet still so green all the way to the top. Loch Ness was pretty interesting too. The only problem with the tour was that when we were in the van we were soooooo exhausted we'd pass out. Once we were out of the van we were wide awake. We came to the conclusion that sitting in that bus was the only time in the past 2 weeks where we were in a stagnant position that didn't requre eating or sleeping so naturally we had to do one of the other and the best was sleep. It was irresistible. After a full day of seeing the Scotish countryside our bus broke down on the side of the road but luckily our Scottish tour guide's GF picked us up in HER scottish tour van. (They're destined for each other huh....) haha Today we went back to London via train and arrived at Kings Cross (did i mention they have a REAL platform 9 and 3/4?) Yeah...ok sorry that was my last HP plug. And then this afternoon i took a few more Alley shots for my final project for my class and then we went on a really long walk and ate tapas for dinner. Oh and we discovered that if you walked about 5 mins in the opposite direction from our house we were so used to take, you ran right into Big Ben! ? What?!?!? Where did he come from? We're so used to taking the tube i guess....Well loves I have a bright and early morning tomorrow... But to those that actually read these all the way through...you are my HEROs!!! Oh, please be praying for my Sophia who broke her foot..or shall I say some dumb drunk driver broke her foot... I'm just so glad she's safe and alive!!! Total blessing.....But be praying..she has a long road for recovery. And please be praying for me as I spend time with the girls I'm with here so I may be a light for them.
I miss you all so much and I'm so glad that you're all in my life.
